Running...

I am training for another half marathon. I did the Utah Valley Half in 2008, I think it was, that went down Provo Canyon all the way down to the Provo Mall. I was so proud when I was done and didn't have any plans to do another but Russ really wanted to do one so we signed up months and months ago. We are doing the Timpanogos Half that goes down American Fork Canyon and over to American Fork High School. We started training and Russ' knee (IT Band) started to hurt so he has been sporadic with his running. I have been getting up at 5 am on days I work in order to get my runs in before because I get too tired to go after and I hate leaving Bryce longer when he has been at the babysitter all day. I am so glad that I am doing it. I have finally lost my baby weight and I think I weigh less now than I did before I was pregnant! The best part is, there are no tricks to the losing weight, it just took finally starting to work out consistently and watching what I eat. This week was the hardest on the training schedule and I am relived it is over. 4 miles, 6 miles, 4 miles, 12 miles. When I am pushing the stroller I am running a 10-10:15 min/mile but when I am not I am running 8:50-9:15 min/mile. I know that I am not fast but I finish. My goal is to get to 8:30 min/mile for 4 miles. The race is in 3 weeks. I am excited and nervous but I am getting burnt out of running only. I am looking forward to going back to cycle class, stair stepping and trying out a power pump class.
