I am feeling a little sad that summer is coming to an end but on the other hand I am so ready for it to cool down. We have had such a hot summer! I absolutely love everything about fall and can't wait for the crafts, food and clothes. The past two weeks we have tried to cram in a lot of summer while working more than my normal schedule. This week I hope to pack even more in since football season will start in two weeks and that means Saturdays are reserved!

A few weeks ago Bryce and I were able to go down to the Spanish Fork splash pad to meet up with cousins to play! The kids had a blast playing in the water and on the playground while us mommies caught up! Such a fun day and I hope we will be able to get together like this more often. 

Brycey doing what he does best. Dipping and sucking on his binky. We have trained him to leave his binky in his bed and only gets it during naps and bed time but his canines are coming in so I let him have it a little more lately. He decided he would skip the Winger's fries and just dip his bink instead.

It's that time of year again. We went to watch one last BYU scrimmage before the actual season starts. Russ couldn't be happier! Bryce actually did really good... kind of. Last year he cried every time anyone would clap but this year he just wanted to clap too. He didn't last long on the bleachers so I took him down and let him run around. It was pretty hot and his little cheeks got red fast. A lady came and sat next to me at the beginning of the practice and said "Please don't hate me. My girls brought and extra hat and I was wondering if you wanted to borrow it for your little boy. (hand me a pink hat) I saw you put the sunscreen on him but my friend has a redhead and I know they burn easy." I thought it was pretty funny. People continue to comment on his red hair and I think it's adorable! I love my little ginger.

Work is still going good! I really, really, really love the people I work with which makes all the difference. These girls really make leaving Brycey boy at home so much easier. Loving my job makes it less difficult to be a working mom but I still cherish my days home with Bryce. 

We have had some really beautiful sunsets lately as a consequence of some pretty big fires. None as close to us as last summer. I hate that my camera cannot fully capture the colors of the sunset.

 Saturday we took a little trip down to Santaquin to visit the inlaws. We drove around the back side of Utah Lake instead of down the freeway. I want to say it was a beautiful drive and totally worth the extra time it took but we couldn't really focus on the view because it was raining so hard. It is a two lane road that was flooding and the windshield wipers couldn't keep up. It ended up taking an hour instead of half and hour. We did see 3 fires that started because of the lightening. One started across the freeway from Russ' parent's house and one started right behind there house. The close one got put out quickly but the other ones continued to burn. We got to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa Thornock and Grandma and Grandpa Hunsaker.

Our Brycey boy is growing up! He started nursery last Sunday! He is technically one month too young to go but since we are the nursery coordinators the Primary President told us to put him in. He did really good. When I peeked in he was usually playing and occasionally being held by one of the teachers. I'm sure he will like being in class so much more than sitting in an empty room for 2 hours with Russ and I. 

 What Bryce has been up to:

• saying his own name (Brycey) and pointing at himself in pictures
• mama's boy. he always wants me to hold him. which makes doing anything hard.
• plays peek a boo
• likes to sing popcorn, 5 little monkeys
• points to parts of his face 
• walking and running
• jabbers a lot of jibberish but says tons of actual works: mama, dada, shoes, brycey, truck, tractor, baba, banana (nana), car, and will repeat somethings you ask him too.
• He discovered the toilet and the toilet paper. We have learned to keep the doors closed.
• He loves fruit snacks and gets the whole box out. 
• He likes coloring! So far he has only colored on the paper and I was sure to get the "most washable crayons" just in case 
• my favorite thing... he gives KISSES! he melts my heart!

Exciting news! Tyler and Nicole (russ' little brother) are expecting their first baby, a boy, around February 6, 2014. Aren't they the cutest!
