Bryce and I spent a week in Chama visiting family. Sherri, Jay and the
kids came out from DC so we got to spend some time with them and meet
Baby Graham for the first time. My cousin also sent her two kids up to
spend the week with their cousins. Bryce and I flew from Salt Lake to
Durango. Our flight left at 6 am and we didn't get to the airport until
5:35 am. I had to bypass the entire security line by sneaking through
the line that takes you straight to the front. I have never traveled
with a baby so I had no idea I had to fold down the stroller and send it
through the scanner. Then they had to take all my breast milk and test
each bottle. The good news is we made the plane but the bad news is our
bag didn't. Bryce did so good on both flights. We had to change planes
in Denver and there were two people on our second flight that loved him.
I had to switch seats so I could be on the right side of the plane
because that is where there were 3 oxygen masks and a lady offered to
hold him. I told her no that I was fine but she insisted and the man I
had to switch with made faces and played with him the whole flight. I
was glad he was so good because I would have felt awful and got so
nervous if he screamed the whole way especially since it was a tiny
plane. The plane was so small that you get off the plane on the tarmac
and walk into the airport. It reminded me of going to Ecuador. We
finally arrived only to wait 30 minutes at the baggage claim and my bag
never arrived. The airport finally delivered my bag at 10 pm that night.
We spent the whole week playing outside, fishing, talking and enjoying
the small town life. Growing up I couldn't wait to get out of Chama but
now I enjoy going back to visit and taking a break from my busy life. I
can't wait for Bryce to get bigger so he can see all the fun things
there are to do there.
