February 2015

I saw this beautiful rainbow on my way home from work one day. Rainbows always remind me of Olivia. I don't know if its that song "If I die young... Lord make me a rainbow, I'll shine down on my mother, she'll know I'm safe with you when she stands under my colors. Oh, and, life ain't always what you think it ought to be, no. Ain't even grey, but she buries her baby" or what it is but I love to see them.
Bryce and I got to babysit little Nixon one day. I tried to practice with my camera on them. Bryce wasn't too into it and poor Nixon didn't have much of a choice. Despite the poor cooperation, I think these two boys are pretty cute.

Of course we visited a few of the Thanksgiving Point venues this month. I took my camera one day and took some pictures of Bryce and Jace riding ponies. I still need a lot of practice but I am loving learning all about how to use it.

Bryce has been showing his independence more than ever. He always wants to choose his clothes and dress himself. Most days he wants to wear sweats and one of his super hero shirts or Star War's shirts.

We went to Nixon's 1st birthday party! Bryce wanted to help him open his gifts and thought they should all be his, instead of Nixon's. Nicole did a great job with Nixon's Hungry Caterpillar party.
I got to go with Tanner and Lauren up to Sundance to take their engagement pictures. It was a beautiful evening and their pictures turned out great. Bryce and Addi played dress up at our house afterwards and we had dinner together.

Russ and I have been doing really well with reading our scriptures nightly and we made it to the temple again this month. I have loved these scriptures lately. They help me to remember the Lord eases our burdens that are placed upon us but doesn't take them away. I read another quote that said "Every trial and experience you have passed through is necessary for your salvation."- Brigham Young. Another quote I have liked "In this sad world of ours sorrow comes to all and it often comes with bitter agony. Perfect relief is not possible except with time. You cannot now believe that you will ever feel better. But this is not true. You are sure to be happy again. Knowing this, and truly believing it will make you less miserable now. I have had enough experience to make this statement. "- Abraham Lincoln
Russ and Bryce went to the BYU basketball game together. Russ said Bryce did have fun despite what his face says in this picture. Bryce was disappointed after Russ waited until the very end of the game to take Bryce to visit Cosmo and he looked right at them and went into the locker room. I guess we will just have to track him down at another game.
I have been really loving going to Yoga every Wednesday at the gym. I am a lot more flexible and a little less stressed because of it. I get to the gym at least 3 other days do get my cardio in. I am working on lifting weights again. Russ has really bulked up over the past few months. He goes to the gym every day during his lunch break. I have to laugh every time someone mentions how good he looks because I know it makes him blush a little.

We invited Grandma Hunsaker and Grandpa and Grandma Thornock to the Museum of Natural Curiosity to play and see Olivia's name on the wall. Grandma Hunsaker played with Bryce while I got to visit with Grandpa and Grandma Thornock.

Valentine's Day: Russ and I went to lunch in Salt Lake at Benihana and put Bryce to bed early so we could watch a movie. He knows the way to my heart with flowers and a gift card to LuLu Lemon. On our way home from Salt Lake we stopped and took Baby Olivia a balloon and flower Grandma Hunsaker sent for her.

A Sunday visit to see Grandpa and Grandma Hunsaker and Grandpa and Grandma Thornock. I always love talking to Russ' grandparent's they share so many stories about their upbringing and life as a married couple. Grandma Hunsaker always gives sweet advice. We cherish her sweet cards and emails she sends. On this night we learned about all the countries Grandpa Thornock traveled to for work with his car wash business. We also saw his war photos and memorabilia.

Daddy and Russ flexin'. Look at those guns! I told you Russ had been pumping that iron.
One night we heard a loud thud but couldn't figure out what it was. I went to get something out of the laundry room and found this disaster! Our laundry soap had exploded! The top had popped off and sent it shooting off the shelf. Sounds crazy I know but it happened again in May. (yes i am writing this in June)

When we purchased Olivia's plot at the Lehi City Infant Cemetery they told us a statue had been commissioned by the city and would be in place August 2014. Well that day came and went with no word on the statue but in February we got a call from the cemetery inviting us to visit an open house at the Highland Art Center to see the clay outline before they made the bronze statue. It was beautiful! We met the artist and saw tons of people come and go. I was curious if they were angel parents too or they just appreciated art. I never asked. The artist, Scott Streadbeck, told us that it should be completed and placed in the cemetery in approximately 90 days. Russ and I anticipated that day. You can read the news article HERE.

After knowing Russ for almost 10 years I still never know what to get him for gifts. It is usually BYU gear or sports tickets and this Valentine's Day was no different. We went to a Jazz game! I bought inexpensive tickets, which really means nosebleed seats and Russ wasn't overly impressed. I thought he wouldn't want me to spend a lot of money but he would have preferred better seats. I'll make a mental note of that. One of our friends happened to be there and was sitting down low with no one near them. She invited us down and we didn't end up watching the players look like ants from the top of ESA.

Brycey got a haircut! I love his red hair more and more each day. I'm actually thinking of growing it back out because I miss those fiery red locks.

And rounding out February we went to the Lehi Legacy Center swimming with Jace! Bryce had been begging to go swimming and this indoor pool was perfect!

And isn't he adorable!
